Musical Innovations’ In-House Repair Shop performs a 20 point inspection for all instruments. Each instrument is thoroughly sanitized after all repairs and inspections are completed. We pick up and deliver repairs, free of charge, for most schools in SC and NC.
Brass:
Inside of instrument is clean.
Slide tubes are clean and move easily.
Piston/rotor casings are clean.
Pistons/rotors are clean and move easily.
Parts are aligned correctly.
Dents, cosmetic and non-cosmetic, are addressed.
Mouthpiece is cleaned and its shank is in proper shape.
Valve guides are properly fitted.
Washers and felts are in place.
Stems and buttons are properly fitted.
Rotor string is in good shape.
Air flow is optimal with no blockages or leaks.
Threads are fitted properly.
Water keys and corks are functioning properly.
Solder points/screws/bolts are tight.
Piston and rotor casing caps are properly fitted.
All moving parts are properly lubricated.
Lacquer or silver plating issues are addressed.
The case nesting and latches are secure.
The instrument is play-tested by a specialist.
